Mercerizing concept: The treatment process in which cotton products (yarn, fabric) are treated with a concentrated caustic soda solution under tension and then washed under tension to remove the caustic soda.

Blanking, heads itching, burnishing, desiring, mercerizing, washing, shaping, wafting, pre-shrinking, inspection.

The mercerization of cotton fabrics originated in 1844, when it was discovered by the English chemist Mercer. It was not until the end of the 19th century that it was formally applied to the printing and dyeing industry and became an important process in the dyeing and finishing of cotton textiles. Denim fabric mercerized in large quantities appeared around 2004, after several years of development mercerized denim has become a mainstream product in the denim market, denim by mercerized, the fabric surface is flat, smooth, bright color, clear pattern, with good touch and softness, good drape, comfortable and natural, to give denim fabric high added value, has a broad development prospects.

Denim warp yarn dyeing is mostly impermeable, the cotton fibers in the center of the warp yarn are not dyed during the dyeing process, and the weft yarn is mostly in this colour, therefore, the effect of denim mercerization is better than the mercerization effect of ordinary colour fabrics, especially compared to the denim fabric without mercerization, the luster, grain, colour, softness and drape have been greatly improved.

As denim made into clothing are subject to washing and other post-processing, mercerized denim adsorption capacity, chemical reaction capacity enhanced; shrinkage, size stability, fabric flatness improved, made into clothing after the washing process can be exempted from the desiring process and less colour loss, wastewater generation is small, can improve the efficiency of the washing process, is conducive to energy saving and environmental protection.
